Imagine flying over the Amazon rainforest, with no evidence of the existence of humans for many miles. The endless green treetops mask the jungle below, making it impenetrable. The further from the city the plane goes, the quieter it gets and the calmer you feel, despite the drone of the plane’s engine. The clouds part to reveal a small valley and a winding river, and the runway slowly comes into focus, impossible in the dense rainforest. The plane banks and begins its descent. With a rumble and bounce, the plane lands on the grassy runway and the engine shuts off. For an instant, all is silent. You step out of the plane and feel the warm, humid air envelope you as you squint your eyes, and you feel the jungle’s embrace. Or was it the gracious welcome of the Sapara people? Welcome to Naku.
At NAKU, we offer two different immersive experiences for groups:
Sapara Jungle 4-night Immersion
The Sapara Immersion experience consists of 4 nights and 5 days in the Llanchamacocha community. For $1725 per person, the experience includes lodging, healing ceremonies, activities, and nutritious vegetarian meals for the duration of the journey. The price also includes transportation from Quito to the Shell Airport, a flight into the Llanchamacocha community, and back, including a one night stay in Puyo or Baños before heading back to Quito.
Healing Immersion 7-night Journey
Our deeper Healing Immersion Journey consists of 7 nights and 8 days in the Llanchamacocha community. At $2500 per person, it includes healing ceremonies, activities, nutritious vegetarian meals, and lodging for the duration, as well as local plant medicine preparation by the community’s Shamans. It also includes transportation from Quito to the Shell Airport, the flight into the Llanchamacocha community, and back, including a night stay in Puyo or Baños.
Activities can include:
Swimming in the river, canoe, trekking in the jungle, learning about medicinal plants, traditional cleansing and healing ceremonies, learning how the women make ceramics, camping along the river, learning how to make the traditional chicha drink, working in the garden and more!

Manari & Belén Sapara Immersion

We have a new fixed departure for 2023 with Manari and Belén. Together with them you can experience teachings such as Shimaka (sacred knowledge of living jungle), Makihauno (dream world teachings and interpretations), local plant medicine rituals, ceremonies, ancestral teachings by community members, energy cleansing rituals, walks in the forest, movement practices and more.
